Kawasaki rolls out MY27 Versys 1100 at Rs 13.89 lakh; deliveries from mid-September
India Kawasaki Motors has launched the 2027 model-year (MY27) Versys 1100 in the country at Rs 13,89,000 (ex-showroom), with deliveries set to begin from mid-September 2026, according to reports by Motoroids and iamabiker published after the 10 September announcement.
The MY27 update is a light refresh rather than a new generation. Kawasaki has added a USB Type-C charging port on the handlebar, revised braking hardware and made a bi-directional quickshifter available as an accessory, Motoroids reported. The bike continues in a single dual-tone colour scheme of Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray and Metallic Diablo Black.
Engine and gearing
The heart of the Versys 1100 remains its 1,099cc liquid-cooled DOHC inline-four, producing 135 PS at 9,000 rpm and 112 Nm at 7,600 rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. Kawasaki has tuned the fifth and sixth gear ratios to keep engine revolutions lower during highway cruising, which should help both refinement and fuel economy on long tours, according to Motoroids.
The optional quickshifter engages from 1,500 rpm upwards, iamabiker noted, allowing clutchless shifts in both directions even at low speeds.
Brakes and electronics
Braking is handled by twin 310 mm front discs with radial-mount four-piston calipers and a 260 mm rear disc, up from 250 mm on the earlier bike, paired with a single-piston caliper. The electronics package includes Kawasaki's IMU-based cornering management function (KCMF), intelligent ABS (KIBS), three-mode traction control (KTRC), selectable power modes and cruise control.
Suspension travel is 150 mm at the front and 152 mm at the rear. The bike weighs 257 kg, has an 820 mm seat height, 150 mm of ground clearance and a 1,520 mm wheelbase. A 21-litre fuel tank, an adjustable windscreen that can be operated from the saddle, full-LED lighting and compatibility with Kawasaki's pannier and top-box accessories round out the touring kit.
Price context
The Rs 13.89 lakh sticker is unchanged from the 2026 model-year bike launched in October 2025, which ZigWheels reported at the time was itself Rs 10,000 dearer than the 2025 version. That places the Versys 1100 against rivals such as the Ducati Monster (Rs 13.99 lakh), the KTM 890 Duke (Rs 14.50 lakh) and the BMW F 900 GS (around Rs 16 lakh), according to ZigWheels' comparison.
For buyers, the practical takeaway is that Kawasaki has held the price while adding small but useful touring conveniences. The USB-C port replaces the need for aftermarket charging solutions, and the bigger rear disc addresses a common complaint on a heavy, fully loaded tourer.
What happens next
The first MY27 units are expected to reach customers from mid-September, according to iamabiker. The launch adds to a busy month for the premium two-wheeler segment, with several other big-bike and electric scooter launches lined up before the festive season.
